PEACE, BE STILL

“Peace, be still!” - Mark 4:39

In 2011, my parents started fighting seriously and my mum eventually considered separation in 2015. In 2016, my mom decided to leave my dad and take my siblings and me with her to Malacca. When Encounter Camp happened late last year, I went feeling bitter and discouraged because I knew I'd be leaving KL right after it.

During camp one morning, we were reading about the story of Jesus calming the storm. In the story, Jesus says to the storm, “Peace, be still!” And then he asks His disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you not have faith?” As I read those words, I felt that He was speaking them over my life, especially over my family’s situation, and I felt peace.

That afternoon, that same day, my parents called me, telling me that my mum was not going to leave and that she and my dad were going to work things out together! I couldn't believe it. I was shocked. But I was so happy!

Today, I am extremely thankful to be able to say that my parents are back together!
